Quick Wedding Day Tips (You May Not Have Considered)
As we approach wedding season, once again, we wanted to offer some quick tips from our years of experience.
Keep things tidy. The bridal and groom prep locations, especially. Clean as you go and your photos will thank you. Cleaner rooms mean cleaner images, allowing the focus to remain on the people and emotions instead of the stuff.
Natural light. Depending on the time of day and year, there’s only so much control you can have over the natural light, but it’s something to keep in mind. The more natural light, the better!
Be flexible. Planning is important, but it is equally important to embrace the unexpected. Things may not go exactly as planned, and that’s not always a bad thing. Rain, fog, wind, lost napkins, late flowers—it happens. Don’t worry! Don’t let it get you down. If you are open and flexible, these little hiccups won’t be what you remember about the day. It’s about the moments, and spending time with friends and family, not whether things went exactly as planned.
Do your research. This is most relevant if your day involves travel from one venue to another, but it can apply to any wedding day plans. Be sure to research what else is happening on the day—road races, festivals, events, etc. Figure out if/how these things are going to affect your parking and travel. Have alternate routes planned.
Be comfortable. Will it be cold after dark? Are those shoes really comfortable? Bring things to change into, just in case. The last thing you want is to be uncomfortable.
Slow down. Your wedding day will go by so quickly. Months of planning will be concluded in the matter of a day. Take your time, and find a quiet moment to savor the day with the person you love.
